Why do I need to strength train?

Developing a balanced, toned musculoskeletal system will enhance your power and endurance for golf. Why strength train? The primary benefits include increases in muscle mass, bone mass, and connective tissue thickness. Mass and thickness correlate directly to strength and endurance. A common concern is that strength training will lead to too much bulk - although genetics plays a part in muscle size and every individual responds differently, normally it takes a very concentrated, strenuous program to do that.

Strength training can be done using rubberized resistance products or weighted products. Ideally, your program should include both. If you are a beginner, start with the rubberized and then add weights. Go for tone!
